Who Are Your Advocates?

If you're in leadership or are running your own business then it's essential that you know who your Advocates are.
Advocates are those people who are with you and keen to help you achieve a vision and goals. They're the people who don't need the 'pep talk' or the big 'sales pitch' for a new idea or initiative. They understand where you're coming from and what you're on about and they like where you're going with it.
Advocates are the ones who are on the same page and can pick up where you're coming from in an instant. They operate in a similar sphere as you even though they're in a different role to you. It doesn't matter what they do in their role - what matters is that they are with you. They don't need to be invited twice to come on board.
Your advocates will come from all walks of life and this is where it can get really interesting and exciting. Don't overlook anyone...be clear on what you're looking for. Don't just look for people who agree with you - you'll find that some of your greatest Advocates are the ones who will challenge you and 'pressure test' your strategies. They're like gold and they will inevitably prove their worth time and again...
